Answer for My son is stuttering when he gets excited. He is two and a half now. Does he need speech therapy?

Thanks for your question. Many young children have a period of normal stuttering especially when their language is developing rapidly. Without seeing your little boy, it is hard to say if he will outgrow his stammer. However, these are some warning signs that a stutter will need therapy
A family member who still has a stutter
A child is stuttering longer than 12 months
The child has other speech sound errors
A higher number of girls recover than boys
Language skills are delayed or advanced.
